Information, Advice and Guidance
Training the Carer provide Information, Advice
and Guidance, which is an independent service to all organisations
wishing to consider accessing training with Training the Carer.
This ensures that we have learners on programmes that are suited
to their needs and the needs of their organisation. The quality of
Training the Carers service is continuously monitored, including through
feedback received from employers (see
here).
Mandatory Training
We run a range of mandatory training courses
to assist organisations in fulfilling their training requirements to
ensure they comply with CQC standards and these include:
Moving & Handling
Flexible, tailored training (half or full day
courses) which can be organised on your premises and related to your
specific client group. The aim of this session is to provide the knowledge
and skills required to enable staff to adhere to current legal requirements
through the use of risk assessments and safe handling techniques.
We also offer the CIEH Principles of Manual
Handling Certificate.
First Aid
These range from 2 hr CPR updates, Emergency
First Aid at Work courses, 3 day First Aid at Work certificates - along with the
2 day requalifiers and annual updates and also courses relating to Children & Babies. We
also offer training in the use of Automated External Defibrillators
(AED's).
Safeguarding Adults
The aim of this training would be to enable
staff to have an understanding of adult protection, the recognition
features of abuse and the procedure to follow in the event of a disclosure.
Health & Safety Awareness
This is run as a half day course looking at
various aspects of Heath & Safety including legislation, COSHH, RIDDOR
and risk assessment.
We also offer the CIEH Level 2 Health &
Safety, Level 2 Principles of COSHH and Level 2 Certificate in Risk
Assessment.
Food Hygiene Awareness
A half day course on the fundamentals of food
hygiene and how it relates to the care sector.
Infection Control
Run as a half day course aiming to provide staff
with an understanding of the principles of infection control, transmission
of infection, the chain of infection and legislative requirements. Methods
of how to prevent cross-infection, including effective hand washing
techniques are also included.
Fire Safety Awareness
Classroom based half day course covering the
basic elements of fire prevention and an introduction to the management
of a fire.
