We are a company based in Surrey and North Hampshire,
comprising a team of practising professionals, who aim to make a difference to
the care that staff are able to deliver. Caroline and Jenny have over 40 years experience
between them, as practising nurses, and through this are able
to offer a wealth of experience, knowledge and skills to their
students.
Jenny Connelly
Qualified as a nurse at York District
Hospital in 1991, and initially held a post working in Anaesthetics.
She then moved to Southampton and worked on an acute medical
ward specialising in cardiac medicine. Then branching out into
the private sector she initially took a post as a Sister in
a nursing home, and then moved to another organisation where
initially was a Matron / Manager and eventually becoming
Director Of Nursing - overseeing a group of Nursing and Residential
Homes. Following this she worked as a Nursing Services Manager
within Surrey. During this time developed an interest in education
and teaching and then had a part time post working in a college
as an assessor and internal verifier. She now maintains her
clinical practice and is a Director of Training the Carer.
Caroline Raynsford
Qualified as a nurse at Charing Cross
Hospital, London in 1992 and then worked in Guernsey on a Rehabilitation
ward. She returned to England and worked at The Royal Marsden
Hospital where she completed her degree in cancer nursing. She
then moved to the Chemotherapy Unit at Guy's Hospital, where
she worked as a Senior Staff Nurse in the outpatients department.
Following this she managed the chemotherapy research unit for
3 years. She then moved to America for 5 years and on her return
worked as a Senior Staff Nurse on the District. She initially
combined this role with a post at a local college as an assessor
working on the NVQ's in Health and Social Care prior to becoming
a Director of Training the Carer. She now also holds her
internal verification qualification.
Dawn Hewitt
Dawn has cared for adults with learning
disabilities for the past 5 years, within which time she has
helped a number of people into employment, join social groups
and generally live more independently. During this time she
completed her NVQ in care and then went on to her A1 assessors
award and has worked for a local college as an NVQ assessor.
She now works as a freelance assessor for Training the Carer.
Aurora
Barnett
Aurora is a qualified Registered Care
Manager who has worked in the care field for over 12 years.
She believes in promoting the rights of individuals, giving
choice and opportunities to clients to take control of their
own lives, within their own capabilities. She wants to work
with others to ensure that staff working in the care industry
are not only qualified, but regarded as professionals by all.
Pat
Lovell
Pat qualified as a
State Registered Nurse in 1975 in Portsmouth where she
initially held a post as a theatre staff nurse specialising
in orthopaedic and trauma surgery until her promotion to
clinical manager in 1979. Whilst having responsibility for 5
operating theatres her role also included leading on the
training & development of all grades of theatre personnel.
Her interest in education and training led to her gaining
both NVQ assessing and verifying qualifications, the C&G
Further Adult Education Certificate, the Certificate of
Education and a BA Education (Hons) degree.
In August 2002 she
moved to Southampton General Hospital where she held the
post of Lead Nurse for Education Training and Workforce
Design within the Orthopaedic Directorate, until her
retirement from nursing. She now undertakes freelance
assessing, verifying and teaching.
Jacqueline Mazur
Jacqueline graduated from Westminster
College in 1989. After managing restaurants in the West End,
Jacqueline moved to the Contract Catering sector, to manage
hospitality suites and staff dining for Price Waterhouse, BP
Oil and Ealing Film Studios. She then spent four years with
a fine foods supplier, as a Trade Sector Manager, managing a
team of sales managers and telesales to sell Delicatessen products
to chefs in the city.
Jacqueline is now a partner in her own
catering business "Delicious Dishes" and provides event planning
and catering for corporate and private functions in London and
the South West home counties as well as providing food hygiene
courses for Training the Carer.
